ECOPLANET FOUNDATION - GHANA
EcoPlanet Bamboo has operated in the Ashanti Region of Ghana since 2015. These areas suffer from abject poverty, with most families living on less than $2/day and without access to basic services, education or healthcare.
Most of the communities surrounding EcoPlanet's bamboo plantations in Ghana previously had no access to water. Women and children would have to walk the 2 mile round trip to a tributary of the Lake Volta to access water.
ACCESS TO WATER
Access to water has been highlighted as a first priority across many of the communities and villages within which we work. To date EcoPlanet Foundation has installed a mile long piping system to bring water to one community, and fixed a series of old and broke pumps to renew water to another.
